• Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Several years of experience in software architecture, ideally within: Energy management, Smart homes/buildings, Industrial automation
• Deep understanding of modern architectural patterns: Microservices, distributed systems, cloud-native design.
• Proven experience applying Domain-Driven Design (DDD): Bounded contexts, aggregates, entities.
• Familiarity with energy-related protocols: Modbus, REST APIs, SMA Sunspec, EEBUS.
• Strong programming skills in: Java, Python, and Rust.
• Experience with agile development tools and practices: Jira, Confluence, GitLab, CI/CD, test-driven development.
• Excellent communication skills in English (German is a plus).
• Analytical thinking, structured mindset, and collaborative spirit.

Our customer is a leading German producer of customized solutions for the self-supply of solar-powered electricity. This includes photovoltaic, energy storage systems as well as cloud technology systems helping individuals to become energetically independent.

Your responsibilities

1. Lead the architecture of customer’s Home Energy Management System (HEMS) platform.
2. Design and document scalable, high-performance, and secure software architecture.
3. Use Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles to structure complex systems effectively.
4. Drive technical decision-making, architecture transitions, and platform evolution.
5. Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and system stakeholders.
6. Ensure code quality, maintainability, and operational excellence.
