Test Engineer

Kraków - based opportunity with hybrid work model (6 days/month in the office).

As a Test Engineer, you will be working for our client, a global financial services organization undergoing a digital transformation to enhance their web and API-based applications. You will be contributing to an agile DevSecOps environment, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, performance, and quality of software deliverables. Your role is crucial in maintaining and improving manual testing processes, supporting new feature development, and ensuring that every change meets defined acceptance criteria and user expectations through rigorous validation.

Your main responsibilities:

• Collaborating with product owners to define testable acceptance criteria
• Designing and executing manual test cases for web applications and REST APIs
• Participating in the creation and implementation of test strategies and plans
• Managing test artifacts and documenting results in line with agile delivery standards
• Driving and coordinating the testing phases of projects
• Contributing to backlog refinement and test case prioritization
• Supporting cross-team alignment on testing goals and outcomes
• Providing input for automation and performance testing scenarios
• Performing initial analysis on application logs to triage defects
• Ensuring test activities align with DevSecOps best practices

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• 5+ years of experience as a Manual Tester in agile software development
• Strong knowledge of software testing theory within Agile environments
• Proficiency in testing web applications and REST APIs
• Familiarity with Agile tools like JIRA, Confluence, and GIT
• Experience defining agile delivery artifacts such as epics, stories, and tasks
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Competence in Microsoft Excel for tracking and analyzing test data
• Ability to manage workshops and testing activities independently
• Familiarity with DevSecOps delivery metrics and processes
• Willingness to continuously learn and collaborate with team members

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience with API development and HTTP/REST protocols
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure
• Familiarity with test management tools like QTest, Tricentis, or Zephyr
• ISTQB certification or equivalent industry credentials
• Understanding of Governance, Risk & Compliance processes
• Knowledge of vulnerability scanning tools (SAST, DAST, etc)
• Experience in performance testing and related tools
• Experience with UML diagrams or process flow documentation
• Understanding of Microsoft SQL and database querying
• Background in process improvement for complex systems
