Job description

For Digital Hub Warsaw, we are looking for:

Sr. Cloud Platform Engineer Analytics & AI Platforms

The Digital Transformation Unit of Bayer Consumer Health operates a global data & analytics cloud platform, which is the backbone of all Data & Analytics Products, including ML, AI, and GenAI Solutions. As a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer, you will be part of a DevOps team, responsible for enhancing and operating a globally scalable distributed Data, Analytics, and AI platform. You will engage with Platform & Data Architects, Platform & Data Engineers and Data Scientists to identify which Capabilities need to be enabled or adjusted, implementing the respective features and changes while considering CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code Best Practices.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Contribute to platform roadmap together with cloud architects, derive requirements for missing capabilities in areas of Data & Analytics Stack, GenAI, Data Science, ML, and Application Development, and participate in Azure service evaluation.
• Independently plan, design, and enable new features/services on Azure Cloud Platform & Databricks based on derived requirements in line with security guidelines, non-functional requirements like cost efficiency and scalability, and documentation guidelines.
• Train team members and stakeholders on how to operate and leverage new features that you have built, as well as preparing and providing the needed documentation.
• Support operations of the platform by providing assistance to stakeholders and ensuring smooth functionality across services, this includes life cycle changes, incident resolution and service requests implementation as well as automation of operations as much as possible.
• Observe and assess platform compliance and define AI-based solutions to ensure cost efficient platform and data operations within compliance guidelines.
• Engage with technology and implementation partners to overcome issues if required.
• Engage with central cloud teams, infrastructure and cyber security teams to implement company and industry best practices and overcome blockers and incidents.

Qualifications & Competencies (education, skills, experience):

• Master’s degree in computer science, IT engineering, physics, or a similar field.
• 3-5 years of working experience in Microsoft Azure Cloud development (infrastructure as code) and proficient knowledge of the Data Platform Stack (ML, Databricks, Data Factory, etc.) and Application Development Stack (Container Apps, Web Apps, etc.).
• Proficient knowledge of Azure Network Design (Private Link, VPC Setup, Azure Firewall, etc.) and Azure Authentication Management.
• Coding skills in PowerShell, Azure Resource Monitor/ARM, Bicep, Terraform, as well as Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, GitHub, and GitHub Actions are a must.
• In-depth understanding of (cloud-based) tools and services available in the market to develop actionable business insights and scale data platforms effectively and efficiently.
• Good knowledge about Data Modelling, Data Warehousing, Data Science, Application Development, and Snowflake as a technology, as well as platform architecture skills is a plus.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills, combined with profound business judgment. Good documentation and communication skills (active listening, consulting, challenging).
• Intercultural awareness and willingness to travel. Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
