Job description

We are looking for a Product Owner – Mortgage Products to join one of our clients in the banking sector.

You will play a key role in shaping and delivering innovative mortgage solutions tailored to the needs of individual customers. This is a strategic and hands-on position, ideal for someone with deep expertise in the Polish retail banking market, particularly in the area of mortgage lending and home financing.

This is a greenfield role, so you will play a main role in building a new bank on Polish market!

Key responsibilities

1. Define and drive product strategy and roadmap, prioritize delivery backlog, and lead discovery initiatives to meet changing market and customer expectations.
2. Own product P&L: manage pricing, margins, sales scalability, and propose annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
3. Collaborate with marketing and CRM on promotions and campaigns; ensure legal and compliance alignment for all customer-facing materials.
4. Act as line manager and Scrum Lead for the product team; lead sprint planning, velocity tracking, and delivery execution.
5. Conduct continuous market research, customer feedback analysis, and benchmarking to identify improvement areas and enhance the value proposition.
6. Prepare product documentation: user stories, test cases, compliance reviews, and legal materials (e.g. T&Cs, pricing).
7. Design and document operational processes; manage user acceptance testing and product go-live readiness.
8. Handle vendor selection and contracting in cooperation with procurement; oversee GDPR and security compliance.
9. Prepare product approval packages and pricing proposals for internal committees pre-launch.
10. Report on product performance vs forecast; ensure business reporting is in place for ongoing monitoring and decision-making.

Ideal candidate profile

1. Solid expertise in product development, including discovery and testing of value propositions, combined with a strong technical understanding of digital-native products.
2. Deep understanding of the technology stack behind digital products; hands-on coding experience is a plus.
3. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner in a bank or fintech environment; managing a product with a revenue stream of at least 40 million PLN is a strong advantage.
4. Strong business mindset with a proven ability to scale products commercially; experience in working closely with sales, marketing, and CRM teams to drive growth is highly valued.
5. Proficiency in product design and delivery methodologies, ideally with direct responsibility for Agile delivery teams.
6. Practical experience as a Scrum Lead, facilitating Agile ceremonies and ensuring team efficiency.
7. Good understanding of the legal and regulatory environment for financial products, including drafting and reviewing contractual documentation.
8. Experience in setting up product maintenance processes, handling production issues, and acting as a second line of defense in a regulated financial institution.
9. Fluency in both Polish and English.
