The State of California’s Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) has an exciting career opportunity and is looking for an innovative Human Resources leader who is enthusiastic and has strong interpersonal and collaboration skills. If you have a diverse HR leadership background and enjoy process improvements and working in partnership with Information Technology to automate manual processes, this is a great opportunity for you.

The HR Chief (CEA A) Position Is An Integral Member Of The Executive Team That Provides Guidance And Direction In All Aspects Of Human Resources And Leads Their Team Overseeing:

Talent Acquisition (Classification and Pay, Recruitment and Exams); Talent Development (Workforce Planning, Career Services, Wellness, Recognition, Special Projects, Training and Employee Development, as well as a Learning Management System); Talent Management (Personnel Operations/Transactions, Medical Management) and Performance Management and Coaching.

Under Government Code 14200, this position may be eligible for full or part-time telework for eligible candidates residing in California.

At this time, per the California Budget Act of 2025, all California Department of Tax and Fee Administration salaries are subject to the provisions of the State of California’s Personal Leave Program.

  • Describe your leadership experience and demonstrated ability to think strategically, develop goals, and function as a member of a high-functioning senior leadership team.
