About the Role

We’re partnering with a mission-driven nonprofit seeking a seasoned PR professional to lead targeted media outreach around two major organizational milestone events. This is a project-based opportunity designed for a strategic communicator who knows how to generate earned media, build compelling story angles, and drive awareness across multiple regional markets.

You’ll step in quickly, shape the outreach strategy, and execute media engagement tied to key events taking place in February/March and May. If you thrive in fast-paced, purpose-led work and love seeing your efforts translate into real visibility and impact — this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and execute targeted PR strategies tied to two milestone organizational events
• Pitch and secure earned media coverage across key regional markets
• Build compelling story angles aligned with the organization’s mission and event goals
• Identify and engage relevant media outlets and journalists in MN, TX, IL, and AZ
• Manage outreach timelines aligned to event milestones and deadlines
• Serve as a trusted PR partner, bringing proactive ideas and clear communication throughout the project

What You Bring

• Proven experience in public relations, media outreach, or communications
• Strong track record securing earned media coverage
• Ability to work independently and manage project-based deliverables
• Excellent writing, pitching, and storytelling skills
• Familiarity with nonprofit, mission-based, or purpose-driven organizations is a plus
• Availability to start immediately and support work tied to scheduled event timelines
