Role: Engineering Manager

Salary: $130K -$150K + bonus

Location: Pittsfield, MA (relocation available)

A privately held civil consulting practice is seeking a Professional Engineer ready to move out from under a top-heavy structure and into a true leadership role.

This position is ideal for a PE who is already running projects but lacks final say, visibility, or growth upside. You’ll take ownership of engineering delivery, lead a small team, work directly with clients and regulators, and stay hands-on with design and fieldwork. There is meaningful autonomy and a clear path to expanded responsibility for someone who wants to build, not just execute.

Work spans civil site design, permitting, wastewater and water-related infrastructure, combining office leadership with on-site involvement.

Ideal Candidate

• Licensed PE with ~5–10 years of experience
• Currently managing projects but limited in decision-making or advancement opportunities
• Comfortable leading CAD production and mentoring staff
• Field-capable, practical, and self-directed
• Motivated by ownership, accountability, and long-term leadership
