Requirements description

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field
• 5+ years experience as a DevOps engineer or similar role.
• Excellent proficiency with the AWS cloud platform focusing on infrastructure as code and CI/CD automation using GitHub, Actions and Terraform.
• Good knowledge in Kubernetes / Docker development and operations with focus on AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service and AWS Elastic Container Service.
• Good knowledge in security concept with focus on operations of Hashicorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager and using OpenID Connect using Microsoft Entra ID for authentication and authorization.
• Basic knowledge in designing, developing and operating streaming data integration using technologies like Kafka and AWS Kinesis
• Excellent knowledge in orchestrating AWS cloud services using AWS Step Functions, AWS Simple Queue Service and Apache Airflow
• Excellent experience using cloud monitoring solutions like AWS CloudWatch, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry
• Good familiarity with Python, JavaScript (Node.js), Bash/Shell, and working with data formats such as YAML and JSON, including Dockerfile creation
• Basic experience with serverless architectures using AWS Lambda and the Serverless Framework.
• Expert understanding of databases and data storage solutions, including AWS Simple Storage Service (S3), AWS DynamoDB, and AWS RDS (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Aurora Serverless).
• Good familiarity with data processing technologies such as AWS Glue and AWS AppFlow, as well as authentication solutions like AWS Cognito.
• Background in developing reusable digital assets
• Good experience with Composable Architecture principals and agile development methodologies and tooling such as Azure DevOps
• Excellent communication, problem solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Good inter-cultural understanding and experience

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be a part of Bayer's Pharma Data & AI Team and optimize the commercial data platform’s DevOps tooling and operations. Your focus will be on driving best development practices, managing automation and testing environments, and collaborating with teams to implement secure, reliable CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure. Your work ensures the stability, security, and efficiency of software or data pipeline development and deployment.

Your responsibilities

1. Design & develop scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure on the AWS cloud platform.
2. Design & develop infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, containerization, and orchestration using tools such as Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker.
3. Design, develop and manage CI/CD pipelines using Github Actions to enable seamless deployment of applications and services
4. Lead the implementation of automated testing and continuous integration processes to ensure code quality and reliability
5. Lead the design, setup and configuration of monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure the health and performance of applications and infrastructure
6. Collaborate with data product DevOps teams to understand their needs and provide DevOps platform support as required
